O.K. after putting it off for a long time I finally built the courage to do an open heart surgery on my Corona II GCF.  I DRY TUNED it to A440, what ever that means. lol. I can say this much, I am happy with the results and it was a great experience that I am looking forward to finding ways to become better at. My sincere respect to all the great tuners who are gifted with such a trade. I don't consider it to be easy, well especially not for me. It wasn't easy getting to the reeds inside the block which were the ones I decided to begin with. Trying to stabilize an inner reed without damaging the reed valve or having your tool slip to the side of the reed was very difficult. After doing such a task several times I noticed some type of arthritis in my fingers and that I also have the chakes-alot symptoms.lol. Being that I am an amateur at this I cant go into detail in to all the whats and hows in performing this job. I wouldn't want to be responsible if any one as curious as me were to attempt to tune their accordion and ruin it in some way. Thanks to all the forum members who have contributed in many ways with their comments, ideas and helpful websites. I guess everyone has a different feel for different tools but just remember, this is a precision job and requires a lot of creativity and plenty of patience. Any tool that I used was first tested on some spare base reeds to kind of get the feel of what was going to be removed. I'm sorry but I don't have any sound or video clips to share but I will try to make it my next project. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own taste when it comes to music whether it be pleasant to the ears or not. In my own opinion I think it sounds just like Vincent Winterbourne`s sample video of his DRY TUNED Panther. I'm not kidding, or maybe I'm just tone deaf. lol. Anyway, I'm happy with it and I only plan on becoming better at it.

There's that sense of humor. I know what you mean Maylo, believe me its been on my mind to try and post a video but I just never done it before and its like another barrier that I will need to get thru because I have never liked being in the spot light or the center of attention. One thing for sure about tuning is to never use any type of grinding tool in the inner reeds if you have the shakes-alots. Believe me it will give you the chills with many goose bumps if you make a mistake. That is a big no,no,no.   Let me find an easy tune to play and I will see if I can post a video.
Thanks for the reply.

hahaha congrats dude.  yeah, don't feel bad.  my first one (my panther) took me about 2 hours.  was kinda hard/nervewrecking at first, but after a while, with more practice it gets easier.

You could use a trick photographers use, don't breathe while performing the task and your shakes will be brought to a minimum.  Again, congratz/kudos.

Great video Vincent, it really sounds good. You were one of the few that I have heard that motivated me to take on such a task.
Two hours? You must have really been prepared with everything you needed.
I did one inner row per evening after I got off from work. I just finished it last Friday. Thanks for the motivation, the reply and the photographers trick.

Well it looks like your spanking days are over buddie.
There`s a new spanker in town from the 70`s and she`s on the prowl for panther`s. It be best you move on son because panther`s are about to become an endangered species.

Yes I really thought about it alot.  My wife also asked me if I was sure I wanted to do that. Well I had to kind of reasure her that everything was going to be just fine, lol. Im still seeing what I can do to post a video because after spending alot of time with the accordion Im starting to think that my wife dont like that very much and she kind of wish`s that she was an accordion at times. The accordion is the same one I have posted in the Hohner Corona old/new style.

I'm working on it Mr Sanchez, I just need to get familiar on how to do it with my son`s laptop. I have never done it before. Of course it will only be a sound sample video, not the actual step by step details of all the work I did.
